Founded by Hubert "German" Urling Sr., our family has been serving Georgetown's finest soups and authentic Creole cuisine since 1960.
In 1960, Hubert "German" Urling Sr. opened a small soup kitchen on New Market Street in Georgetown, Guyana. What began as a humble corner spot quickly became a beloved institution, famous for rich, hearty soups and authentic Guyanese Creole dishes.
"Good food brings people together. That's what German's has always been about — family, community, and flavour."
Today, sons Clinton and Hubert Jr. carry on their father's tradition, expanding German's Restaurant to multiple locations while staying true to the original recipes and commitment to quality that made us a Georgetown landmark.
Three generations of family dedication to authentic Guyanese cuisine. Our recipes have stood the test of time, perfected over six decades.
Every dish is prepared using traditional methods and fresh, quality ingredients. From our signature Pepperpot to Metemgee, taste the real Guyana.
More than a restaurant — we're a gathering place for families, friends, and community. From Georgetown to Brooklyn, German's is home.
